Linda Strange
Writer – Teacher – Grower of Gooseberries
About
Linda Strange is a writer and teacher with roots in New York, Connecticut, Sweden, Norway, and Eastern Europe.
Her essays about Ukrainian and Russian events have appeared in Pangyrus, one of which, Poetry, Navalny, and Truth, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and her short fiction has appeared or is forthcoming from Freshwater Literary Journal, Glass Mountain Literary Magazine, Marrow Magazine, the 2024 Connecticut Literary Anthology, and Bewildering Stories.
Linda is a retired teacher of English as a Second Language and still visits her former school in Waterbury, Connecticut to teach guest lessons on writing about art, world, and American history.
She started growing gooseberries (and currants) to remind her of the summers she spent in the Finnish countryside and to satisfy her English husband’s taste for this beloved Northern European fruit. In late June and early July, if she’s not at her desk, you can find her out picking, tipping, tailing, or in the kitchen making jams, jellies, or setting down cordials.
